PL-259 Connector

The UHF-Male coaxial connector is commonly referred to as a  PL-259 .  It is by far the most widely used coaxial connector in amateur radio, citizens' band radio, and marine VHF radio.

Our top quality PL259 connector has a silver plated solid machined brass body and center pin with a Teflon dielectric.  We sell them individually and in 10-count and 100-count bags.  Dealers are encouraged to ask about special pricing.

Our PL-259  fits RG-8 and LMR400; however, we also sell the PL-259 with either a UG-175 or UG-176 reducer.  The UG175 reducer fits RG-58, and LMR195 coaxial cable.  The UG176 fits RG-59, and RG-8X coaxial cable.  RG-8X is also commonly referred to as Mini-8.

Unlike nickel plated PL259s, our PL-259  connectors are very easy to solder.  Once you try our silver / Teflon connectors you will never go back to the inferior nickel plated version.

The PL-259  can handle RF power levels over one kilowatt (1kW).  Although called a UHF connector it is seldom used for UHF frequencies above 300 MHz due to poor performance.

We thank our friends are Ten-Tec for demonstrating the proper soldering technique.

SO-239 Silver-Teflon UHF Female Coaxial Connector

(TestParts Part # 05-97511 ) The SO-239 (a.k.a. UHF-Female) coaxial connector mates with the  PL-259 (a.k.a UHF-Male) coaxial connector.  An interesting fact is the center contact of the SO239 accepts a Banana Plug.

Please take a look at our Silver Plated / Teflon Insulator chassis mount  coaxial connector .  The SO-239 connector is commonly used in Amateur Radio, Citizen Band (CB), Video, Local Area Networks and many other rf applications. TestParts Part # 05-97511
